PostHeaderIcon 8/9/09: The Buffalo Bisons beat the Columbus Clippers, 12-8

This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons beat the Columbus Clippers, 12-8. This was the third win in a row for the Bisons, who had been having a 5-game losing streak prior to this. This was the final game in the series between these two teams, and the Bisons easily won it. Buffalo started the scoring in the first, and they kept going til the very end. There was no chance for Columbus.

This was the 8th loss in the last 10 games, and 11th in the last 15 for the Clippers. They just finished their 4-game series against Buffalo, they lost 1-3. This was also the end of an 8-game homestand, which they lost 1-7.

For the Bisons, Nick Evans hit his 7th homerun and Robinson Cancel got his first for the season. For the Clippers, Josh Barfieldhit his first home run and Matt LaPorta hit his 14th.

RHP Lance Broadway got the win tonight, making him 4-7. LHP Chuck Lofgren got the loss, putting him at 5-7.

Tomorrow night, the Clippers will head to Victory Field to take on the Indianapolis Indians. This will be the start of a short 3-game away trip for the Clippers. The game will start at 7 pm.
