Sailing the Ship

The Game – This Afternoon, the Columbus Clippers will be heading out to Victory Field to take on the Indianapolis Indians at 1:00.

The Stats – Tonight’s game will be the third game of a long, 7-game series between these two teams. The first 3 games will be played in Indianapolis, while the last 4 will be at home in Columbus. Columbus’ win in last night’s games ties the series, 1-1.

Columbus is 49-66, putting them at last (of 4) in the International League West. Indianapolis is 57-59, putting them at 3rd (one ahead of Columbus) in the International League West.

Starting Pitchers –This afternoon, the Clippers will be sending LHP Ryan Edell (0-3) to the mound. Edell is looking for not only his first win, but to get a streak going for Columbus before they head home. The Indians will be answering with RHP Virgil Vasquez (6-2). In 8 starts against the Clippers, Vasquez has only been credited in half of them, going 3-1.
