In what seemed like a repeat of Monday’s game, the Indianapolis Indians squeaked by the Columbus Clippers, 2-1. This was the 3rd game a 7-game series between the two teams and the last game at Victory Field in Indianapolis. The Clippers started the game off, scoring 1 in the second inning. The Indians then scored 1 in the second, and 1 in the fifth to win the game.

This was the 8th loss in the last 10 games for the Clippers, and the 11th in the last 15. This makes them 49-67, putting them dead last (of 4) in the International League West.

The Clippers’ sole run came from a home run from first baseman Matt LaPorta. Designated Hitter Jeff Clement got a home run for the Indians as well.

LHP Ryan Edell was credited with the loss, making him a dismal 0-4. RHP Virgil Vasquez got the win, making him 7-2. RHP Juan Mateo grabbed his 5th hold and RHP Jean Machi got his 2nd save of the season.

Tomorrow night, the Clippers and the Indians will play again, this time at Huntington Park in Columbus. The game will be at 7:05. This will be the fourth game of a 7-game series between the two teams, and the first in a 4-game homestand for the Clippers. The Indians currently lead the series, 2-1.
