Tonight, the Toledo Mud Hens continued their domination of the Columbus Clippers. Toledo started it off, scoring once in the first, once in the fourth, and once in each the sixth and seventh. Columbus looked like they were in it, scoring right after Toledo got their first, but then they just died out.

This is the 8th loss in the last 10 games for the Clippers, and the 12th in the last 15. This makes them 51-74, putting them at dead last (of 4) in the International League West.

For Toledo, Mike Hessman hit one over the fences, his 20th of the season. For Columbus, nobody hit a home run.

Columbus’ RHP Carlos Carrasco got the loss, making him an even 10-10. Toledo’s RHP Nate Bump (7-1) got the win and RHP Casey Fien grabbed his 13th save of the season.

This will be the last game in the series, Toledo is currently winning it 5-0. Obviously, the Clippers need to get the win to keep from being swept. The game will be played at 7:05.

With last night’s loss to the Toledo Mud Hens, the Columbus Clippers are now out of the wild card race, and have no chance of getting to the playoffs at all. They are the first team this season to be eliminated.
