Two years ago, members of the Mountain West Conference were up in arms when they realized that Boise State was not going to be in the National Championship game. Instead, it was the OSU Buckeyes v. the LSU Tigers. The Buckeyes and the Tigers each had a loss, Boise State had none. This year, there were two undefeated teams from the Mountain West, Boise State and Utah, only Utah got into the BCS, and only into the Sugar Bowl. Instead of the undefeated team being in the National Championship, Oklahoma and Florida, each with one loss, were. This has created problems…

Oh, and, for some reason, Texas thinks that it should have been there too…

Now, when you have kids, and they perceive that they are being treated unfair, what do you do? Well, you go home and cry to mommy. That is exactly what Utah did, as they went CRYING TO THEIR SENATOR. Seriously folks, I can not make this shit up.

So, now Senator Orrin Hatch is up in arms and investigating if the BCS violates that whole anti-trust crap that congress keeps using. Let me get this straight, a GOP member is waiting his time, the Senate’s time, and my stupid tax money just because his school got snubbed. Oh, and he is attacking a private entity.

Are we sure that he is not a democrat?

So, now that I have handled the money issue, I really want to understand why the hell this is happening. See, I see no logical reason for the BCS to change, even if it is off sometimes. The teams that play are top-calibur, and nobody denies that. Instead, the issue is that these tiny schools who play against shit schools are being given a way into the games with no test. A playoff could show that they should go home crying about the refs, but that would be way too long. These are college kids, they are too be athletes first.

Wait, I want to go back to the whole Senate thing. Don’t they have something else to do here? Seriously folks, this is our government, and they are sitting there arguing over football. I think that all football fans should e-mail Hatch and tell him what a crappy idea this is.
