I know that for the future I should make the appointment. More or less, my issue is that this was extremely hard for a person who is not used to the system. Having a simple sign would have fixed everything, and been user friendly

Now that I know how it works, I was hoping to help others with it

no on said you "need" an appointment to shop. i was merely stating that if you know you are going, why not make an personal shop appointment? and if you are paying cash, your personal shop will also help you with that. and you can can make a personal shopping appointment for any time during regular business hours, or even in the AM before the store officially opens.

come on robert, try to see the glass as half full, not half empty :(

any more smart questions? why not give it a try?

What if I don't want to use a CC, or only am able to shop when classes are cancled? The mere fact that you need an appointment to shop indicates the problem

in the future, make a personal shop appointment before you go. this way, you have someone waiting for you at a time set by you so you can get all your questions answered and get rung out by the same person. most people think you have to buy a mac to do this, but you don't, you can make a personal shop appointment to have a specialist answer all your questions with ease of time of different headphones and then ring you out on the spot if using a credit card. . it's simple.

I really think it is your loss if you choose to not go to one of the best stores. You are trying to fault a store because you couldn't ask anyone for help and instead of looking for people with handheld registers. I mean come on... Macys uses them... The limited uses them, but because you were too lame to ask for help -- the store is at fault. Give me a break! And anyways, you can buy the same headphones at walmart or target or best buy. Stop whining and get over yourself!

They did this in my nearest Apple store too. No warning, no indication that people could just ring you up anywhere or who or what to look for. I think the best way to get rung up is to stand in the middle of the store looking supremely confused, and try to avoid looking like you're looking AT something.

The Consumerist article didn't for that reason. I spent 35 minutes minus commute, which is still far too long.

There is still the front bar FOR registers, but none were sitting there

I think it's really unfair to include your commute time into the time wasted total. Having lived in Columbus it takes 20 minutes to get anywhere if it isn't down the street from you.

I've been to that Easton Apple store and I have to agree with you. Granted it was 3 years ago, the customer service still wasn't very good. Back then it did have the registrars but it was still not easy finding someone to check you out then. Sometimes the staff wasn't the nicest. I've been to other Apple stores and they're all not like that. I think the one in Easton is purposely under staffed. I live in the Tampa area now and their Apple store doesn't suck.
